obviously girls look really beautiful with makeup on and im not negating that at all, but girls without makeup on also look… so unbelievably pretty! like i wish more ppl posted pics of themselves without makeup so we could normalize the concept that girls dont…. just naturally have giant eyes and pouty lips and rosy cheeks and stuff! one of my new years resolutions is to go Out in my naked face more & to take/post more selfies, at least without any eye makeup, so that the idea of like… what faces actually look like can be more normalized! honestly, so many ppl wanna be like “i dont do makeup for anyone but ME!” and that’s great! it’s also totally fine to do it for other ppl! it’s fine to wear makeup bc u dont feel comfortable going out bare faced! it’s fine to do makeup for art OR for beauty, or for neither, or for both! im not anti-makeup, but i did sit down and think “am i actually doing this for ME like ive been saying, or am i doing it because im embarrassed about the way i look?” and then i thought “am i embarrassed about things men would be embarrassed about? or is it ideas of what im supposed to look like as a woman that i was sold?” and taking that time to really understand why i personally wear makeup has made me wanna wear it way less, bc ive been wearing makeup all this time only to prove that i can fit into an impossible idea of beauty invented & sold to me by men when…. my actual eyes and eyebrows and lips and cheek colors ARE beautiful and healthy and dont need to be altered!!! so much of my insecurity comes from this obsession with changing who i am! like, what the fuck is contouring? i always feel like no one will think im pretty unless i learn to contour! thats literally just about tricking the eye into thinking my FACE is differently shaped! men NEVER have to worry about that shit! fuck that! like it’s really cool to do but i shouldn’t feel ugly just because im going around with my face shaped Just The Way It Is. im actually… not gonna spend forever feeling bad about who i am !im way too good & valuable for that, and i dont deserve to be a pawn in a marketing ploy invented by makeup companies to trick me into believing that im ugly
